RC Helicopter PCB Circuit Board Heat Sink Upgrade - Modification
RC Helicopter PCB Circuit Board Heat Sink Upgrade - Modification
You will receive 4x Heat Sinks
We have come up with this great way of keeping your PCB components from overheating.
In our many years of experience with RC helicopter PCB circuit boards the SCR (see diagram) electronic component is the most common to overheat and burn out!
If you follow our simple instructions below you can fit these neat little heat sinks in minutes which will then help cool the SCR's on your PCB.
Please note I am using a picture of a Syma S33 PCB for demonstration purposes but the same can be done to most rc helicopter PCB's they will just be located in different positions on the board and of course if your helicopter only has 1x main motor there will only be 1x SCR on the board.
Top Tip!
We also recommend if your PCB is located inside the head cabin as most are and you don't have any ventilation holes it is also worth putting a hole about the size of a 5 pence piece in the top of the cabin to allow air to circulate and help cool the PCB and heat sinks.
Please note: (This is not a cure to the problem but is to help prevent overheating of the SCR's on your circuit board)
Step 1: locate the SCR on your PCB
Step 2: Peel off the sticky back tape from the heat sink modification
Step 3: Stick the heat sink to the top of the SCR
Step 4: Repeat step 3 for the other heat sink if you have 2 SCR's on your helicopter
Heat sinks in place and that's it your done!
